Crumpled paper as balls and your hands as rackets.

The kids can now play tennis at home!

PETANQUE

Crumpled paper as petanque balls / target.

The kids can now play petanque at home!

VISION BOARD

Take a few magazines.

Your Kids can do a vision board through collage.

You can also do it as a mood board to check how they feel.

Lalie, 8 years old, just did hers below. #WomenPower

TALENT SHOW

Let the Kids prepare a Talent Show

(dancing, singing, fashion show, comedian...).

BUILDING A TENT

Kids love building Forts, using bed sheets and chairs?

TREASURE HUNT

Ask the kids to pick 10 objects that are a certain color or a certain shape or start with a certain letter..

HOOP RING TOSS

Make a hole in paper plates and use for hoop rung toss.

Use a paper towel tube as target.

TIC, TAC, TOE

Who hasn't played cross and circle on a piece of paper? A more fun version with plates as on the picture. You can also make it a Power 4 game.

DARES ORIGAMI

Make a paper fortune teller. This video shows how.

You can change the fortune telling with fun dares (sing, make others laugh, push ups, moonwalk, imitate a chicken, try to lick your elbow, imitate your siblings/parents..)

MAGIC

Kids love showing their magic skills.

Here is a quick video to show you 5 magic tricks kids can do.

as a bonus.. THE TIME CAPSULE

We love this activity to help check how the Kids are coping with the situation. Done by a Canadian mom in  English, French or Spanish.

FEELING OVERWHELMED with this situation?

  1. First acknowledge and label your emotions: I feel anxious, angry, short tempered.

  2. Please take care of yourself also: sleep, nutrition, exercise, breathing (close your eyes, relax and take deep breaths for 5 minutes). And take breaks from being a parent.

  3. Be more tolerant at home if things are not as smooth as usual (homeworks,..)

  4. When feeling overwhelmed, you can ask yourself: How will I feel tomorrow about this? Does this situation represent an immediate danger? Is this situation permanent? What are the positives of this situation?

  5. Last but not least, KidsCampSingapore will be back shortly.. hopefully from 1st June !! We look forward to seeing you all !
